MRM: What’s up down in St. Petersburg?

Nino Breeze: Saint Pete is just that Florida vibe; I’m sure you heard about the infamous Florida man, lol. It’s always live, always active, and a good blend of hood and Hollywood. You can be in the projects and 5 minutes later be looking at palm trees and big boy high rise condos. Love my city.

MRM: How are y’all doing after Hurricanes Helene and Milton? Helene really hit us hard up here in the Carolinas.

Nino Breeze: Yeah, I saw that Hurricane Helene really messed y’all up. It was bad, man. For us, Helene wasn’t a direct hit, but it caused a storm surge, so the beaches were completely flooded. It ruined a lot of businesses and homes on the water. I actually participated in hurricane relief efforts for both hurricanes. I was just trying to do my part. It’s a process, but we’re recovering.

MRM: Well, let’s start from the beginning…who were your hip-hop influences early on?

Nino Breeze: My hip-hop influences early on were the really animated rappers like Ludacris, DMX, and Eminem. Then, I had phase 2, when I was a little more aware of what was going on out here. I would say I was paying attention to Rick Ross, Future, and Yo Gotti. They were speaking on the hustle and building their brands.

MRM: At this point in the game, do you prefer rapping regionally or nationally?

Nino Breeze: For me, I still prefer regionally. They are more familiar with my material, so I get more energy regionally. Also, I’m so hood with it that I prefer the small hole in the wall bookings I get in Florida. They really be the most turnt up. I don’t know, though, as my music expands. I might start catching different vibes elsewhere, but for now, it’s back home.

MRM: How did you end up hooking up with Rick Ross and MMG?

Nino Breeze: I ended up signing with MMG because I made friends with a dude named Kano while I was incarcerated who is down with Ross. We continued to communicate once we were released, and he would show Rozay music. He took a liking to my hustle, as well as my sound, so we locked it in.

MRM: How was it releasing your debut MMG single “Type A N*a” featuring Rick Ross and Moneybagg Yo?

Nino Breeze: That was an amazing moment. I love that song in particular as my debut because it wasn’t commercial. It was purely me and gave the right impression of who I am and what I’m about.

MRM: With your “New Era 8” music video (an absolute banger btw), is it true you made $30K of real cash rain during filming? And if so, what happened to it after the shoot? Haha

Nino Breeze: I believe we brought out 27,000, so it was close to $30K. The money you saw thrown in the video was real money and we left it in the club. We killed two birds with one stone, though, because that’s how I paid all the girls for their appearances, time, as well as the venue and stuff like that. We didn’t just waste it haha.

MRM: You are part of The Millennium Tour coming to Columbia, South Carolina on April 11. What can fans of hip-hop expect at this arena show?

Nino Breeze: They should expect a lot of high energy performances from the artist as well as a nostalgic feeling. You’re gonna remember when each song came out and think about exactly where you were and what you were doing when you heard it.

MRM: Also, you will be performing at Club Crush in Columbia, South Carolina for the official afterparty. Will there be some surprises in store?

Nino Breeze: Well, with Club Crush, you can expect me to be a little more, which is my natural self and not so polished. I’m also gonna be able to come out the cut with more material. It’s going to be lit for sure.

MRM: After The Millennium Tour, what is next for you when it comes to more music and tours?

Nino Breeze: I’m currently working on an EP, so that should be releasing soon, and the demand for Nino Breeze is growing across the country. So, I’ll be popping up here and there.

MRM: Thanks for the interview! Anything else you would like to add?

Nino Breeze: Once again, this is Nino Breeze, the new signee to MMG. My newest single “New Era 8” is going crazy. Make sure you check that out and keep my first single “Type A N*a” in rotation as well. Thank you.
